The conference in Rotterdam on the former cruise ship ss Rotterdam is part of the program 'Breaking the Investment Barriers of Plan B' and will focus on how to organize the marketplace for realizing Plan B projects for the best and in particular how the investor can be linked to the following six areas / islands:

• Energy-efficiency and -transition;
• Population pressure on land and water and restoration of biodiversity;
• Urban renewal;
• Food production;
• Eradicating poverty and stabilizing the world population and
• Mobilizing society: economic - and attitude change / mind shift.

The conference has a highly interactive nature, which means that an active attitude of the participants is expected to think and work along. We will make use of a Meshwork on the location of the conference and the results of this Meshwork will form the basis of the online Meshwork / Marketplace.

In regular changing composition of small groups we will be working on the following topics:

• What are the dilemmas we are facing?
• Which "roadblocks" do we see?
• What are the already existing "enablers" for success?
• What are the recurring themes, what is the common thread?
• What are the critical success factors and how can we make these factors concrete?
• What are the next steps we can take and who should take these steps?
• What role can a marketplace play and what kind of requirements does this marketplace need to comply to?

There are a number of plenary presentations:

• Herman Wijffels on how we can face the challenges and
• A representative of financial world will give his or her vision on the program and what the financial world can or should do.

'Open Space' sessions

In addition we will have several 'Open Space' sessions for checking the conditions of success and the enablers. This will be interactive sessions, which will be initiated by short and powerful presentations. We have the following 'Open Space' sessions:

• Marketplace Plan B

The results of these 'Open Spaces' will put on the online Meshwork and the 'Open Spaces' will be continued on the online Meshwork / Marketplace.
